Macarella Cove
Cala Macarella is, without a doubt, one of the most famous beaches of Menorca. Located on the south coast of the island, its spectacular landscape of cliffs, turquoise waters and white sand make it an essential visit. Although it is very popular and usually crowded in summer, its natural beauty continues to surprise even those who have visited it before.
How to get there
During the summer months, access by car is restricted. To get there, the best way is to take a bus from Ciutadella (line 68) to the parking lot, and from there walk about 15 minutes to the cove. You can also arrive on foot from Cala Galdana, in a beautiful coastal route of about 30 minutes.
Useful tips
- Arrive very early if you go in high season to avoid crowds.
- Wear comfortable shoes if you decide to walk from Cala Galdana.
- There are not many services, but there is a small beach bar near the beach.
- Perfect for taking pictures, swimming and enjoying the scenery.
Why visit it?
Because it is the symbol of the virgin coves of Menorca. Its intense blue water, the nearby caves and the contrast with the cliffs make Macarella one of the most photogenic beaches in the Mediterranean.
